Default replacing oil pump on 2000 sxr 700

Can anyone be of any help. Having a heck of a time trying to get at the allen bolts holding the oil pump on engine. I removed carbs and engine mount bolts, but can't get at it good enough. The steering column and motor mount are right in the way. I even loosened motor to try to get some play - no help. There must be an easier way. Any help????????????????

    Thanks,

    Smurf

It would be way easier in the long run to just pull the engine. Then you can also check the wiring harness that runs under the engine for rubbing and clean everything up nice also.Might not hurt to check your water pump at the same if its never been serviced.
