Ape Hangers
Anyone have any info on these? I think I want some but I've never even sat on a bike with them, let alone ride one. I have an 09 Fatboy

Depends on how tall ya are, I have 12# or 14 " with stock riser on my springer and it is real comfortable. to height and you loose control of bike, and by law they cant be over your shoulders.

DSCN0369.jpgIMG_0148.jpgI have had 14" ers on my last two bikes, 2003 Wide Glide and 2005 Road King. Very comfortable. If I had to do it over again, I would go with 16". I am 5'11" tall. Got them from this place. Complete kit with wires already run through the bars.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm 5'10".
Do you think 14" would be to much for me or about perfect?

In MI the law says, below shoulder height. If you have carpel tunnel your hands will fall asleep very quickly.

14" will be just right. Will not be above your shoulders and your hands will not fall asleep. At least mine don't.

HD dealer by my house has a metal horse you can put any seat and handlebar combo on to see if you like it......

Thanks for the info guys. I just bought a new Ruger SR9C so I need to wait a little bit until my next big purchase but I will have them on by riding time next year.

I installed 20" "ape beaters" from BR bars on a 2010 fatboy for a friend, I put 600 miles on the bike (I'm 5'9") and I thought they were comfy (and illegal) as ****!

dang, dunno if I could go that high. I'm still leaning towards 14". Still doing some research on where to get them...

I highly suggest Hill Country Cycles. Plug and play installation of the bars. I ran the wires myself more than once and wouldn't do it again if I had the choice. Check out their website.

I have a 2005 Road King Classic, I am 5'7", and I put 12 inch hangers with stock risers, and it was perfect. You will not regret it. Very comfortable. I'd imagine, if you are nearly 6 feet tall, the 14 inch would be fine. shoulder height is about perfect for me, as my hands don't fall asleep. One thing I do notice sometimes, if I'm really relaxed, my shoulder will start to come out of the socket because of my arms hanging for so long. *but that might just be my problem. not yours.

heck, who needs bars. sometimes i will set the cruise and just kick back
