    Default creeps forward at idle

Had some clutch work done last year and now the sled wants to creep when idling.
What can I do to fix this?

The belt sits about 1/16 to 1/8" above the sheaves.

    Sled is an 01 XC600

    Thanks!

You are in spec but only thing you can do is adjust deflection & make sure you have correct part number belt on. Or just ride & wear belt down a bit. 500 miles & will stop creeping. Should be giving you 1 heck of hole shot. Also check RPMS probably down.... if over reving you have clutch probs take it back in that case.

If you have the right belt, the correct belt deflection and idle is right. Then check your belt to sheave clearance in the primary. Also, check the clutch weights and make sure they are not scraping on the inside of the spider. If this is happening the weights can get hung up on spider which keeps the clutch to be engaged just enought to grab the belt and want to move the sled. Definetly something to check.

It sounds like the side clearance on your primary is to tight. Try and work the belt to one sheave and check the belt to sheave clearance on the other side. I'm having a little brain fade, but think you need around .020 at least.

    Thanks for the replys.
The same belt has been on there for at least two seasons.
Belt width is 35.40 and the projected should be 36.51 so it's worn. Deflection was 1" and primary side clearance is way big.
I can see probably a 1/16" gap between belt and sheave.

Looking at the secondary I can see they moved the adjustment cam from original, to the tighter side.
It used to be around 4.5 and they moved it to 3.

I'll try moving the cam back to where it was today and see what happens.

You have a problem new belts creep not old belts & new belt would really ride high at current deflection. Check RPMS need that info.
