smelt fishing higgins lake michigan

any one have any info on smelt fishing on higgins lake? how to catch them what kind of bait and were and when to go? if u dont want to post u can email me zr900efi@yahoo.com. would love to try it thanks for reading John.

The southwest area of the lake seems to be best. You will see the shanty "towns" that is where the smelt are, since the perch fishing in the lake kinda sucks lately. Waxworms and teardrops are all you need. Super light line and a very sensitive bite-detecting device. For me I almost have to have a shanty so I can sight fish them.
