believe it when I see it
Forecast for next Monday looks great! Sorry to say, for the past 3 years I've seen the same/similar right up until 12 hours before the event to either get flurries or rain - no BS.
Hopefully we get hit this time!!!!!!
FYI - I live in the south-central U.P. by Escanaba.

Literally got the hair standing up on the back of my neck after looking at the extended forecast.
John, I hope you are right, because I need a getaway between now and the gulf coast trip on 4/6. I won't make it that long!
Nice to see all that dark blue and pink for you UP'ers!
I'm sayin prayers for this one - taking no chances.

I trust JD more than anyone, I'll go with his forecast,,,,,,,,,,
RJB has the 1st storm moving real fast through the area,,,,,,,,
Accuweather has it falling apart (4" Iron Mountain, 6" Lakewood) and a more southern storm and no sign of a second storm,,,,,,,
NOAA has up to 2' in Eastern UP.
I really need the second storm to come through due to mediacal reasons I can't make the first one.
Looking forward to 1 more large ride!

I have my fingers & toes crossed for it to happen!

I believe it cause:
1) John is typically more accurate than most.
2) I have to fly out of MSP at 5:30 AM Tuesday to go to Orlando for the Cat dealer's meeting.
3) Best case scenario is they will groom & call the trails open on Thursday or Friday. We will get one weekend all season and then it'll be over.
4) Snow at this point will just keep boat & ATV shoppers home longer.

No offense anyone but I am waiting till friday to look at forecast

Oh, come on...I bet you took a quick peek!!

I'm sure it's true also only because I'm sitting in Orlando with the family right now. Then I fly home Saturday just to get right back on a plane Monday to go to Naples for work

Jimandros - why a cat dealer meeting in Orlando? Specifically at this time of year?
-
Fingers crossed!....I see a Winter Storm Watch was just issued for La Crosse, WI area and south 4-6" for tomorrow and they said it would probably become a Winter Storm Warning this evening so if you live in Central and S. WI...looks like some snow for Thursday.....Praying for Monday's forcast!
Also sounds like the UP received some much needed snow last night......I'm sledding on Sunday...going somewhere!

The dealer's meeting is held over a 3 day period in late Feb to mid March each year. This year's meeting starts at 6PM Tuesday. We place preliminary orders next week, then come home & try to get preseason sales. We then finalize our order later in April. So, I will have pricing & specs on Friday.
As for the Orlando question; Last year was in Nashville, prior to that Vegas for 3 or 4 years, MPLS one year and West Yellowstone in the 2005 to 2006 timeframe. Personally, I don't like to travel by air (25 years in airline maintenance 1980 - 2005) and would just assume the meeting was here in Holcombe. But, they need to put the show somewhere that can accommodate the crowd, has transportation enough to get everyone there & back & have a display area.
Obviously there are closer places. But do you pick closer for the factory or midwest dealers or New England dealers or Mountain dealers? I was once told that corporate thinks the dealers like a break from the cold & work. So they treat us as if it's a mini vacation, at least destination wise. I would just assume somewhere I can drive to in one day.

I agree, I wont be getting my hopes up. Forecast is a long ways out. 3.7 miles on this year. not gonna get all riled up.

I'll believe it when I see it also. It keeps diminishing each day. I won't hold my breath just like always on a forecast that is more than 3 days old. Even then they change constantly.
I think I'm going to apply for a job as a meteorologist on the weather channel. All I have to do is look at the different computer generated models and say what they say. If they're wrong then I just say what they say when they change. Doesn't seem too difficult?
