Oops, forgot to mention the 06 Doo 600 Renegade, No way was I going with a fusion.

All these horror stories. I never had to deal with Poo direct, but again never anything major. Good dealers are the key. I always hear great stuff about Headwaters Poo. I really on Peacock and Nelsons Speed Shop to do battle for me. Both dealers know me by first name and treat me very well. Both have fixed stuff off warenty and have put my sled on top of the repair list when needed. They know I will be back. A dealer is like an Insurance agent in my book, they go to bat for there customers. Nobody should have to deal with the manufacturers directly. It grinds me to hear what some of you guys go through.

After 3 weeks of phone calls Polaris called my dealer and told them to tell me to call them again as they had something to offer , but would not tell him what it was. So I called them and they apologized up and down and told me that as a very loyal customer they would give me another year of bumper to bumper coverage on my 2011 snowmobile.. I was very content but not totally happy but understood there wasnt much more that they could or would do. After the phone call, which by the way was on speakerphone in my truck, I told my wife and son that I was pretty happy and would run the sled another year.Well we were actually on our way to Mich. and rode Friday and got all ready Sat. morning and got going 3 miles down the trail and blew out the chaincase. Towed the sled back to Headwaters and left it there to fix. We were up with the neighbors and kids and had a 4 day weekend planned so I thought I would rent a sled. So I did and got 5 miles down the trail and blew the motor . So whatever. we went back and sent everyone else off to have fun. Next weekend picked up sled and put 810 miles on in 2.5 days. Next weekend go back up with my son and Sunday AM a A-Arm broke off. Ruined yet a 4th trip of year. Took it into dealer to send in for warranty and they turned it down due to no warranty left on sled and also said wouldnt cover it as I couldve hit a rock or something, which I totally understand. But then I told them about phone call giving me a free year and they totally deny giving that to me. Im in unbelievable shock as is my wife and son who heard the whole conversation, and dealer cant believe it either . I am so upset Im not sure what if anything I can or should do. Sorry for being so long winded but had to vent. Any suggestions ?????
That really does suck. I would be beyond pissed, and would be riding something else for sure.
The first 12 years of my sledding career I was a diehard Cat guy, nothing was better than a Cat, NOTHING. Then, my dealer went out of business, guess what? I found out I was more dealer loyal, than brand loyal. Since then I buy what I think fits my needs, no matter the brand. Is a company as loyal to the customer as the customer is to the comapny? Not a chance!
Lake Effect Snow, my three favorite words.

I just went thru similar problem with a Yamaha, although it was a grizzly, still similar results. Buyer beware is more true now than ever, after 40+ days (in the first 2 months of owning) at dealer i filed a lawsuit, I am 1.5 years into it now and still not done. Being a mechanic by trade I think I'll buy used from here on out. Good luck.

Dealers
Yes a dealership going to battle for you is key. I have an awesome dealership back home here (Freds Fastrac in FonDuLac WI.) and they tried and Polaris lies to them too. I also deal with Headwaters in Watersmeet Mi. when I have problems there and both places have treated me like a King in getting going as soon as possible . That is why Im having a hard time switching brands but if something doesnt get done Polaris will not get another dime of mine. BTW. my wife is due for a new sled too and she is ready to switch also. Thank you guys for your support and a fellow JohnDeeer has responded to my letter and is going to try and help me out. And as far as getting this info to others on other forums I will if nothing happens.

ya know every now and then you buy something new at its a turd, just happens don't matter what it is just luck of the draw i guess. whether its a car, sled, lawn mover washing machine, or whatever. it happens sometimes and sucks.
for that dealer to look you in the eye and lie to your face about not giving you the polaris hot line to call is beyond reprehensible.
I would strongly consider a different brand a snowmobile and then i would maybe consider fire bombing that no good dealer of yours.

IMO it does no good to air dirty laundry on other forums & will just add to your fustration. Take a shot at Poo management & if issue does not resolve to what you want move on. Lots of good new sleds out there.

Timo ,dont know what u are talking about as far as the dealer . Freds have done all they can . I dont know what u r talking about as far as hotline number.

Some great points made here about dealers and dealer loyalty versus brand loyalty. I have a dilemma in that I'm really happy with both the Ski-Doo and Polaris dealers in my area. It actually makes it hard to favor one over the other.
These dealerships aren't fancy, no massive showrooms, and no matching shirts but they seem to care about their customers. This winter I was telling the owner at the Ski-Doo shop how happy I'd been with my Summit and I made the comment that it probably wasn't good for his business that I've kept it so long. His response was "you know, it's not just about selling machines, you want people to get good use out of what they have." Not the answer I expected. I bought several Polaris models from the dealer in my area in the late 1990's, early 2000's but after I switched to Doo in 04' I didn't have much reason to visit the Polaris dealer. One day after about a four year absence, I walked into the Polaris dealership and ran into the owner. Even after all this time, he greeted me by name. Granted it's a gift to be able to do this but he makes the effort and it pays off. About a year later I bought a high-end Alumacraft from him.
Now back to the 2013 question. I'm really crunching the numbers to see if I can pull off a new machine next year. I'm really liking the RMK this year and I'm trying to decide if I can believe the website. If I filter on the special edition models using RMK/800/Electric Start/155x2.4 track, it shows the 155 RMK ES models and the RMK 155 Assault Powder. If this is the case, this is a pretty good deal because you're getting the deep snow track and electric start on the Assault for about $200.
Went to the Polaris/Arctic Cat/Yamaha show yesterday and when I was there I thought the turnout was really light. May have had something to do with the weather. In any case, I got to see everything first-hand which is always a valuable thing. BTW, the Indy 600 is pretty cool.

Reason: Only Indy 500 is on this site - Only a 600 in the 2013 lineup

I dont agree at all
-
Ezra, you don't happen to have Mistress Helga's phone number?
Although, now that I think about it, if I go back to Polaris it might be in the sled documentation. Never mind.

Just not my style to do this on other websites. JD sure as you can have a mature discussion here but other public forums the brand loyal will turn this all around & somehow become pwolfy2003 fault which is plain wrong.
Best to contact suits at Poo as they fold like paper anyway at that level. lol

but most can see through the pom poms and see the truth.you dont want to post in the middle of a poo circle jerk. I have seen posts about issues and shortly after the issue had been resolved.believe it or not they all have FT guys and gals on the pay roll reading writing and doing damage control on the fourms.
they all know how toxic a thread can be when it goes viral

sorry i read into it wrong. i thought the dealer was the one that told you they'd give you the extra year warranty but it sounds like it was polaris. my bad.
good luck with whatever you do.

Wow, this went away from the original heading. Anyway, decided to retire the old 2001 & 2002 Polaris 600 XCSP's and snowchecked 2 800 Switchback Assaults with the retro wrap. Hope they serve us as well as the 600's did. Mine ended the year at 28,500 & my wifes 2002 has 18,289 miles. Amazingly bulletproof sleds.
-
Rupp Collector, Nice miles on the sleds.
These forums tend to head south in a hurry. I'm still trying to decide on something for next year. I have to admit that the Switchback setup looked pretty good at the shows.
-
Just pulled the trigger and snowchecked the 2013 RMK Pro 800
-
Ordered a 2013 Summit XM 154 Black. Gotta try it.
-
RMK Assault Powder 155 is pretty much a done deal. Assuming it happens, it will be my first new sled purchase in over eight years. I thought it was probably time and figured I'd do one more dance with Polaris.
-
not 2013s but two ski doo 2012s, I picked up an 800 etec and a 600 etec for next year, never had ski doos, just hope there as good as my other brands. I always try to purchase in the spring, seems like they want to get ride of them. I tried to buy a cat, but the cost per feature was higher if you can believe that, I did like the pro r 600 rush but my son thinks the ski doos look better.
-
Fatdaddy, we're kind of having the inverse experience. I've been riding Ski-Doo for the last eight years and hoping the new RMK is as reliable as my Summit. Pretty sure you'll really like the ETECs. Plenty of power and the mileage is ridiculously good for a 2-stroke.
-
Skiroule, I hope so, like you I've favored sleds that have been good to me, I have had good luck with cats and polaris and see alot of ski doos on the trails in the last 5 years. I think they are all good, you just need to find what options, features and price fits your needs.
-
I don't need a new sled this year since I got one last year and didn't wear it out yet, but I was at the show in Fargo on Monday and the turnout was real low. I didn't think the sled companies had a lot of new things, a few nice new features though. Hopefully we all get a little more snow next year so more of us need new sleds. Skiroule, did you get the retro model, I liked the looks of that one. You will have to bring it up to ND and try some of the riding here if we get snow. You could do a few day backpack ride from Baudette.

I liked the retro look but since I went with the Assault Powder, it wasn’t shown as an option. I suppose it could have been made available as a non-standard graphics package but I went with the standard Powder “Rock Star” graphics (my wife will hate it – I haven’t dared show her exactly what it looks like yet). At least it has the same color scheme and logo design as the retro.
Funny you should mention making my way out to ND next year. Let’s say we actually have snow, I’m seriously considering taking the 79 TX (and probably the new one) on at least a four state tour around New Years. Figured I’d hit some of the member riding areas and maybe even get in a little riding with some members. Your place is definitely on the list. You’re right, I could ride all the way to North Dakota from my brother’s yard, assuming I didn’t take a wrong turn and end up in Hallock - that would be bad

Thought I would get this back on track see what sleds we bought this Spring?
