So is it what you expected? How did you rookie friends do?

The rookies did surprisingly well. By the end of the week they were all starting to feel a lot more comfortable. I was a bit nervous riding with 3 people I had never ridden with before, especially people that had never been in the mountains. It all worked out just fine. They did do there fare share of logging, but I have to give them credit, as the snow conditions were not the best to be learning how to sidehill and carve for the first time. The nice thing about the snow was we could climb just about anything out there. The 2000 ft climbs in the Shoot Creek area were an absolute riot!! Seemed like the hill was just never ending. The thing I really like about this area is you could climb to the top of a ridge, see where you just came from, and see where you are going next. Lots of obvious landmarks to help you get your bearings. All you have to do is get up high and take a look around. Of course thats all good in theory until some weather moves in-LOL.

These are all the pics I have. I lost everything on my phone, which really ticks me off. That is where most of the good ones were. I had a bunch of pics of the Lumberjack with all the unique chainsaws and such. Oh well, I guess I'll have to go back. Shucks-lol

Nice pics! Too bad you lost them all. I had a hard drive on my laptop crash and lost the first three days pics! The only days we had freshies! Oh well, like you said, I must go back!!!

What happ to the phone

It stopped taking a charge. The crappy part is the phone powered up just fine with a charged battery. I could have uploaded all my pics but I didn't bother because I thought they were all backed up with my G-mail account. They weren't. I don't know if I didn't have it set up correctly or what?

Anyway here are a couple more from one of the other guys on the trip.

Could you imagine all the places to play in a good snow year! So much stuff that we just cruised by because the snow was set up or stump heads were sticking through. Had to wait until we got up a bit higher to really play! Hopefully big snow next year at a bit lower elevation!

You said it man! The play grounds were just endless. I kept imagining what this area is like with good snow. I think you could spend an entire day and a tanks worth of fuel playing on just one of the hills on a good powder day! I can't wait to get back there. Lets just hope the whole place isn't shut down next year. It would be a damn shame if the greenies get their way, and shut us out!
