Default Crazy fast go cart in MI.

This is a crazy fast go cart. This guy is insane. I was waiting for a car to pull right out in front of him.
I have a couple questions about the video.

Can anyone tell what type of motor it uses?
Do you think it can really do 170 MPH?
I guess this was supposed to take place in MI, does this area look familiar to anyone?

Cripes, I sure hope he doesn't ride sleds. The guy can't even stay on his side with a yellow line to mark the center.

I can already see a couple of reasons why this person is in contention for the Darwin awards and the vid shows nothing even close to the claimed speed.

Can the cart do 170? Possibly the motor with drivetrain gearing, but. . . there are a lot of things on that cart that could go kafloouey before that thing hits that kind of speed.

He just about bites it at the 3:40 mark. It won't be long and he'll be a statistic with that thing. I don't know what 170 mph feels like, but I sure didn't see anything there that looks that fast. I don't doubt there were a few moments in the triple digits. I wonder if he's been stopped by the law yet..

Someone in the comments IDed it as a Suzuki GSXR 1100 engine.
Do they make a go cart tire rated at 170mph? I know I have had several bogies come apart in the triple digits. Little scary when they go through the drivers/track. But a tire,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I kind of liked it. He stepped it up along with the look backs after the coppers went buy.
    Machine sounded nice to me.

6:40 and 9+ He's hauling. Watch the trees go by. moving pretty fast. Awesome vid. You could be gone so fast. I'd love to ride one. 80% of people couldn't handle it.

Take that thing out to the salt flats. It should have 5 gears. Never gets the rpms up that high in 5th.

Guess I have always had that " dare devil " side in me. Comes from the one side of my family. When young .... I would taunt the public school patrols on my sled, zooming around the school property and then circle-ing them in the parking lot until they got stuck trying to cut me off ( LOL ) at least that is funny to me. As much as I would love to drive one of those, the cars & intersections are too much of a risk. Being jammed under a 4 wheeler at 60+ mph is something that might " jam " me up and thus another trip to the hospital.... possibly making the " Big Ride "..... No Thanks

However playing " catch me if you can " with the local authorities sounds like fun. UNTIL.... I have to get my check book out and pay a lawyer to keep me out of jail.....

Wouldn't want to hurt anyone.... just for the record!

That is one wickedly violent, bung puckering, hot rod go cart. Holy flipp'in smokes! The driver's no slouch by any means, but it's fairly obvious that he's even intimidated. Who wouldn't be? I got a rush of adrenalin just watching the video. Man, would love to take that thing for a spin.

At about 6:48 he goes pass a motorcycle riding a wheelie.

A guy from here put a T-Cat 900 triple in a go cart. It had bigger wheels and tires than the one in the vid. It would go well over 100 mph. But as has been stated - not many other components on a go cart are really made for those kinds of speeds.
