You can buy the flags at just about every store up there. Parking is the biggest PITA. If you have to trailer in a non street legal toy (ATV), they have a parking lot set up to drop and ride in but once it's full. you're SOL. Easiest way is to load it in the back of a pickup and drive it in to the dunes and dump out there.

They have a "voucher" system set up to enter the dunes/lot. Best plan is to go the day before and get the earliest voucher (9:00 -11:00) and plan on being in line much earlier than that to enter the lot cause it fills up fast.

My suggestion is to go during the week. You don't need vouchers and should have no problem getting into the parking lot if you need to.

    Good Luck!

If you are going on a Friday night, try to plan on somebody being there before the voucher station closes to get vouchers for everyone. They will need license plate numbers for any vehicles that are going in. If that won't work, get there as early as possibleSaturday and DO NOT go on a holiday weekend. Last year people were waiting seven hous in line just for the stinkin vouchers! The system is a joke but, it's thr Mi. DNR.

You cannot take trailers on the dunes anymore. If you need to trailer, you'll need to use the parking lot. DO NOT tow your ATV's in from wherever you're staying. Alot of people used to do this but they will nail you with a ticket within seconds now.

If you have two ATV's, try loading both in your truck by standing them up and unload once you get out there. I've seen alot of people doing this.

And yes, you can get the flags and mounts everywhere up there. That should be the least of your concerns. There are several forums, just like this one, for Dune Heads if you do a google search.

    Good Luck!

    Dave
