Ollie loves to sleep on da couch. She is going on 11 and I feel bad for her laying on the floor. We even have a dog bed but it's cold on the floor. She loves it when the wood stove is hot, she lays right next to it so I do allow her to sleep on the couch. Sometimes I even cover her up with a blanky
Our dogs sleep pretty much anywhere from the floor to the couch and the beds. In the winter one of my dogs will sleep on a heat vent that is on our kitchen floor. At night they each have their own crate that they sleep in. They actually love sleeping in their crates. Sometimes I will find them taking a nap in the crate during the day.
During the day, they are usually on the couch or recliner. At night they both sleep in bed with us! The doberman has to sleep right in between the wife & I. Kinda puts a damper on the love life!!!
Anywhere during the day, but loves to either be on my wifes legs or under the covers between us with her claws poking me in the side. And if you move, you get a big groan out of her, lol
Ollie is not allowed on the bed because she sheds at certain times of the years and I cannot stand the hair although she has been known to be on there,,,without out permission
To each their own…..… but in our house the dog stays on the floor, not on the couch or in/on the bed. He has his "dog" bed and blanket that he uses most nights (it’s on the main level of our house so the floor does not get cold).
It depends whom is home. My dog is also getting older, her back is hurt and she has arthritis. She will sleep on the rocker recliner in my wifes bedroom, ( should be ours ) but due to lifestyle & working hours .... I just sleep in the man cave ( lower level. ) Our ( Alli ) will also follow the sun spot around in the living room , it moves thru the upper level windows thru the day and she will pick a warm spot. Or by our fireplace, and every once in a while she will get caught on our nice & expensive leather couch. That is until she hears me coming, jumps down fast ... then knocks the vase off the coffee table.... what a hoot !
I used to come in the house and start feeling for warm spots on the furniture, each time her ears would get lower & lower...LOL
Well Jackson sleeps were ever he wants, unless its my spot. He's just alittle guy compared to the Goldens i use to have (30 pounds). At night when i open the bedroom door he'll go in and pull the covers down and lay his head on the pillow with his butt under the covers.
When i come in he'll move down along side of me, but sometime durung the night he moves to da couch or his bed on the floor in the bedroom. All day he lays on da couch and seems to like the top on the back, where he is now. Must be the Beagle in him.
During the day her dogs seem to sleep everywhere and anywhere they want that is warm and soft. At night, the Boston Terrorist sleeps right between us. under the covers, on top of the covers back and forth. He has a body temp issue, to hot then to cold, pampered is putting it mildly. The Cavelier, King Charles is just happy to be alive (he was a rescue dog) and he sleeps next to our bed on his doggy bed pretending he is a watch dog. On the boat they have their own air conditioned "mid-cabin" with plenty of fluffyness to sleep on, complete with port windows to watch for passing by ducks. Wife turns on the "Dog Whisperer" so they have educational tv also during the day..................yes.........for real!
At night the female is at the foot of the bed and the male on my side of the bed, both on the floor on their big cushy beds. During the day, anywhere in the house on one of the twenty some odd beds around the house, usually chasing the sun. In the evens, we usually sit with them on their cushions watching TV.
During the day on the couch at night in the bed with us- 90lb yellow lab= bed hog!!
lol,,,that's funny. It is amazing how many JD'ers dog sleeps in the bed with mom and dad. Di and I have a king size bed and it's just enough room for the two of us. We're both sprawlers and a dog would not work
Our 2 dogs sleep between us in our king size bed and I'm usually left with just enough room to lay flat, but I wouldn't have it any other way. When I'm watching TV, Day-Z will lay right next to me with her head on my shoulder. She is the most loving dog I have ever owned. Man, I love dogs!

At one time we had 3 Dobermans in our bed at night. Very cozy, the female slept between hubby's legs and the 2 males on my side!

That's what you call a SunDial Doberman! Mine have done the same.
ollie is in good shape for close to being 11 years old, runs fast still and jumps good but she loves to sleep. She usually does not get moving till after lunch and than she likes to sleep on the floor till about 8 pm. If my entire family is in the living room and were all on the couches, ollie will stare at whoever is in her spot till they move, very funny, such a personality!

More than you would believe Lenny, more than you would believe....
Pretty funny reading about dog sleeping habits.
Our sheltie is not very agile anymore so she pretty much sticks to the floor. Likes to sleep in front of the vent in the bathroom at night - warm air in the winter, cool air in the summer. The rat terrier mix usually starts out somewhere else but always ends up under the covers between us at some point during the night. Luckily, I get the warm, furry back while my wife gets the 40 grit sandpaper paws. The pomeranian is a little too young to be allowed to "free range" at night so he is confined to his cage. Besides, being a pom he's a naturally disgruntled sort and believes that both dogs are where he wants to be. Given the freedom to do so, he generally disrupts the nightly peace.
During the day, anywhere..they follow the sun too. All 3 are small dogs (under 15lbs). At night, all 3 get in bed with us. The miniature pinscher puts off a ton of heat, the bichon pants when it's 50, and the mini pinscher/terrier mix goes from under the covers to on top all night long. All 3 snore, right along with the Mrs too. I wanna be a spoiled dog in my next life. LOL
