How many times a day do you charge your wood burning furnace?Let's just say a 30 degree day with light winds [10 MPH] out of the north? How much wood does the firebox hold?

On a 30 degree day with light winds I would probably toss 4 logs that are 18" long and 8-12" in diameter into the burner. On a really cold and windy day I would toss about 5-6 of the same sized logs in. Keep in mind we also heat our domestic hot water with the wood boiler.

Those logs will then do us for the next 24 hours.

The dimensions of the firebox are 5 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet. If I fill the box completely I can go anywhere from 4-6 days without refueling.
