Where to Stay.
We are going to the Vintage races in Eagle River in January and looking for place to stay. Wives, kids etc.
Probably need pool or hot tub minimum so family can play while guys are out on machines.
Does not need to be in Eagle River as snow machine traffic in town may be intense anyway.
Any recommendations would be great.
Thanks

Ok weird not to tell you to stay with us...but no pool or hot tub yet...well you could stay with us anyway....but I'll say Gateway Lodge in Land O'Lakes it has everything you need

Yep stay with Bears gets the riders just on the edge of the good stuff where you have ribbons of white little to no snirt. Great place to ride in any direction. Some may want to ride sleds to ER or deep in UP your choice. Very difficult to say what ER trail conditions will be like....1 heavy, heavy traffic derby weekend & ER trails are shot for weeks or months. Terrible place to ride from after the derby uless they get 12 inches of snow are more quickly after the event. If you want to really ride without tearing up your sled look to stay 20 miles north, west, or east of ER. Yep you have to purchase UP trail permit but well worth it. If choice between WI permit or MI take MI all the way forget WI.

The casino in Watersmeet is nice also. My parents just stayed at the Gateway and said it was nice also. The races are fun for about 2 hours then its time to ride.

Family - Gateway
Couples/Guys - Casino
Like Harvest said both are great and far enough from the track to be out sled traffic. But either are not far at all.

If you do choose to stay in ER, the Super 8 is nice. I don't know about the traffic, etc. For riding, I'd rather stay out of town and drive in for the races.
